虚拟主机

虚拟主机技术是互联网服务器采用的节省服务器硬件成本的技术，虚拟主机技术主要应用于HTTP服务，将一台服务器的某项或者全部服务内容逻辑划分为多个服务单位，对外表现为多个服务器，从而充分利用服务器硬件资源。如果划分是系统级别的，则称为虚拟服务器。

虚拟主机英文为：Webhosting 或者 WEB HOST VPS 又有人称之为主机空间

Hosting services limited to the web:

免费型主机 Free web hosting service: is free, (sometimes) advertisement-supported web hosting, and is extremely limited when compared to paid hosting.
共享型主机 Shared web hosting service: one's Web site is placed on the same server as several hundred other sites. These are somewhat restricted to what can be done.
独立主机 Dedicated web hosting service: the user gets his or her own Web server and gains full control over it (root access for Linux/administrator access for Windows); however, the user does not own the server.
Colocation web hosting service: similar to the dedicated web hosting service, but the user owns the server; the hosting company provides physical space that the server takes up and takes care of the server. This is the most powerful and expensive type of the web hosting service.
销售型主机Reseller web hosting: allows clients to become web hosts themselves.
