Sperm (or spermatozoa) are the cells from males that join with the female's ovum (or egg) to make pregnancy in the female. Sperm are made in the testicle of the male. Each sperm has 23 chromosomes which carry his DNA. Sperm have a tail called a flagellum. This moves to push the sperm forward to find an egg.

Males make very many sperm. Females make fewer eggs.

Sperm can also mean the fluid that comes out of a male's penis when he ejaculates which has millions of spermatozoa in it.
