The Middle Ages are a time period in European history. They started around the year 476, when the Roman Empire ended, and continued until around the time Christopher Columbus discovered the New World in 1492.

During the middle ages, Europe changed from the remains of a great empire (the Roman Empire) to several independent countries (The United Kingdom, France, Germany, Hungary, etc...)

Major events included the Viking invasion, the Hundred Years War, the signing of the Magna Carta, and the Crusades, to name a few.

Popular figures who immerged from this era include King Arthur, King John, Saladin, Richard the Lionheart, Joan of Arc, William Wallace and Robert the Bruce.

Popular weapons included swords, maces, longbows, and axes.

Popular seige weapons included arbalests, siege towers, trebuchets, onagers, siege rams and catapults.
