Goldfish are pet fish that live in bowls or aquariums.

Goldfish belong to the Carp family, and were domesticated in China in the 17th century. It can reach up to 59cm in size, and 3 kg in weight. This is extremely rare though, most goldfish remain at less than half that size.

In the wild, goldfish can grow 20 years old. In the aquarium or fishtank, however, most will die earlier, for lack of space.
