Fibonacci (around 1175 - 1250) was an Italian mathematician. He is very well-known. His real name was Leonardo of Pisa or Leonardo Pisano. His nickname Fibonacci was taken from his father, whose name was Bonacci. Fibonacci means (a) son of Bonacci. His Mom was Alessandra Larracocci. She was 44 when she died. Saminta was his sister. He is considered the "Father of Mathematics". He is best known for the Fibonacci sequence of numbers, in which every number is the sum of the two before it. This series is also interesting because the ratio of two adjacent numbers in the series approaches the Golden Ratio, or Phi, as the numbers get bigger.
