The Abdomen is the part of the body that is between the chest and the pelvis (hip area). It contains (has in it) many organs. Some of the organs in the abdomen are:

• Small intestine and Large intestine
• Pancreas

People use other names for the abdomen. Sometimes people say stomach (an organ in the abdomen) when they mean abdomen. Some slang words for abdomen are tummy, belly, and gut.
