Polymerer

• Polyvinylklorid - PVC - lages ved polymerisering av monomervinylkloridet (kloroeten) CH₂=CHCl
• Polyvinylalkohol - PVA - lages ved polymerisering av monomervinylalkoholet (etanol) CH₂=CHOH

I dagligtalen brukes ordet vinyl vanligvis om produkter som inneholder PVC; som f.eks. grammofonplater.
