De Panthalassa (lett.: Alzee) was 250 tot 210 miljoen jaar geleden de oceaan, die bijna de gehele Aarde omvatte. In die tijd bestond er slechts één supercontinent, namelijk het Pangea, waaruit alle huidige continenten zijn ontstaan.
