정보통신기술(ICT, Information and Communications Technology ), 비슷한 의미로 정보기술(情報技術, IT, Information Technology)이 있다.

전기 통신, 방송, 컴퓨터(정보처리, 컴퓨터 네트워크, 컴퓨터 하드웨어, 컴퓨터 소프트웨어, 멀티미디어), 통신망등 사회 기반을 형성하는 유형 무형의 기술 분야.

넓은 의미의 정보통신 기술이란 정보의 수집, 가공, 저장, 검색, 송신, 수신 등 정보 유통의 모든 과정에 사용되는 기술 수단을 총체적으로 표현하는 개념이다.
