着物（きもの）は、日本語では、

  1. 身につける衣服一般を指す。
  2. 洋服に対し、古くから日本で着用されてきた衣服としての和服（和装）を指し、英語で Kimono という場合はこの狭義の着物、一般的に足首あたりまである丈（身丈）の長い着物を指すことが多い。
