カナダの国歌の名はオー・カナダ（英語・フランス語：O Canada）。

カリサ・ラヴァレー（Calixa Lavallée　ケベック州の作曲家）作曲、アドルフ＝バジル・ルーチエ卿（Sir Adolphe-Basile Routhier　ケベック州の判事）フランス語版作詞、1880年6月24日に初めて歌われた。

1908年、ロバート・スタンリー・ウィア（Robert Stanley Weir　ケベック州の法律家）英語版作詞。

1968年、上下院特別合同委員会の勧告により、英語版の歌詞が若干変更されたが、フランス語版の歌詞は変更されていない。

1980年7月1日、国歌に制定。
