Whessy is a common Irish slang term which refers to the onset embarrassment caused by oneself while inebriated. The term can also refer to simply becoming inebriated, i.e. getting whessied. Often the actions that a person who is "whessied" are of a sexual nature. Generally, people who are labelled "whessies" are being collectively called a slut, drunk and a whore. It generally indicates a sexually promiscuous person (usually female). It is widely believed that the term originated from the combination of the words "whore" and "messy". It may be used by the person concerned as an expression of pride in their status, or as an expression of enviousness in their "success rate" by others.

All songs mentioned have proved very popular in the night clubs and public premises around Dublin and Ireland.
