A symmetric monoidal category is a monoidal category which is commutative up to a natural isomorphism. Formally, it is a braided monoidal category whose braiding satisfies

$\backslash gamma\_\{B,A\}\backslash gamma\_\{A,B\}=1\_\{A\backslash otimes\; B\}$

for every objects A and B.
