The sthene is the unit of force in the metre-tonne-second system of units (mts), invented in France and used in the Soviet Union 1933-1955. The symbol is sn. It is also used measurement in thrust.

1 sn := 1 t·m/s²

= 1000 kg·m/s² = 10³ N = 1 kN
