Script may refer to any of various writing forms which carries in its meaning an aspect of precision, direction, and definition:

• a writing system, such as an alphabet, syllabary, abjad, or abugida, and is often the proper form to use in place of alphabet.
  • a style of handwriting or calligraphy, such as fraktur or cursive.
• a manuscript, meaning a handwritten document, also referring to a written document in its draft document (formative) form, as it may develop into a final book or performance form:
  • Script (performing arts), the dialog and instructions for a play, including screenplay (for film), a teleplay (for television), a dance script, (for dance, choreology, or Benesh Movement Notation)
  • Script (comic), the dialog for a comic book or comic strip
• a scripting language - a computer programming languages initially used only for simple, repeated actions, (See also Shell script, JavaScript etc.).
