Reconstructionism

Reconstructionism may refer to a variety of religious, academic and historical religious sects and/or political movements.

Reconstruction, the period in United States history that refers to the orchestrated post-war resolution of political and economic issues in the former Confederate States of America after the American Civil War.

A broad umbrella term that may refer to (but is not limited to):

Zoroastrian Reconstructionism, a non-cohesive religious and academic movement to uncover supposed earlier forms of Zoroastriaism (usually focusing on a 'pre-henotheistic' form of Zoroastrianism, as is typified in groups such as Gathas-Only Zoroastrians.
Christian Reconstructionism, a controversial religious and theological movement within Protestant forms of Christianity that seek to enforce private and public (civil) enforcement and general normalization of moral commandments as interpreted from Bible into overall society.
Polytheistic Reconstructionism, a common umbrella term for various related and unrelated groups that seek to revive various polytheistic religions prior to the ascendency of monotheistic religions, usually along with supporting cultural elements which have since fallen into disuse or obscurity.
Progressive Reconstructionist, a loose-knit collective of various and diverse interfaith communities that are usually self-defined as seeking to foster an adhrerence to a ^* "spiritual" but not necessarily "religious" ideology of ethical maxims within society at large that are shared among the various groups.
