Practicalism is an informal term for ideologies that consider doctrines of "practicality," or "present feasibility" as superior to those of idealized concepts or virtues.

Practicalism may refer a system of government where all major policy decisions are voted upon directly by the people. When a policy has been decided to be enacted by the populous all the experts in the field concerning the policy meet and decided how to best carry out the idea.
