A momzer is a Jew who was born from a relationship that is forbidden under the Jewish Law.

Such relationships include relationships commonly acknowledged as forbidden in other cultures, such as a pairing between a brother and a sister, but also include more unusual relationships, such as with an hermaphrodite.

While momzer is typically translated as bastard, this is not technically correct.
