Lymphocytopenia refers to a lower than normal level of lymphocytes.
It is the opposite of lymphocytosis, which is an excessive level of lymphocytes.
It can be identified as part of a Complete blood count.
Normal levels (cells/microliter)
- adults: above 1,500
- children: above 3,000
