Geochronology is the science of determining the age of rocks, fossils, and sediments. A variety of dating methods are used by geologists to achieve this.
Geochronological units - examples:
You can write: Tyrannosaurus rex lived in Late Cretaceous, but if you write: a T-rex was found in Late Cretaceous, you mean that a timetraveller found it 67 mya.
