GAUSS is a matrix programming language for mathematics and statistics, developed and marketed by Aptech Systems. Its primary purpose is the solution of numerical problems in the following areas: statistics, econometrics, time-series, optimization and 2D- und 3-D-visualization. It was first published in 1984 for MS-DOS, the latest edit (7.0) is also available for LINUX, Sun SPARC and Windows. It can handle more than 2 Gigabyte of data.
