Emery boards are pieces of cardboard which have emery affixed to them, or have emery paper glued to them. They are generally used as nail files for smoothing out rough edges of nails in manicures and pedicures.

Because emery boards are inexpensive, they are a sanitary, disposable alternative to metal nail files.
