In physics, effort force is the force used to move an object over a distance.

Effort force is a component in the following equation,

R × DR = E × DE

where

R is the resistance force
DR is the resistance distance
E is the effort force
DE is the effort distance.


Effort force is also a component in the following equation,

Work input = E × DE

where

E is the effort force
DE is the effort distance.


Effort force, like most other forces, is measured in newtons or the pound-force.
