Effective accessibility is a term used to describe access to health care and is based on factors such as opening times, cost of use and waiting lists as opposed to geographical or 'locational' factors (e.g. physical proximity, travel time). The factors of effective accessibility play an important part in determining whether individuals or population sub-groups can access health care.
