A slang term for Duke University in Durham, NC. Students and alumni of this institution are often referred to as Dookies. Diehard fans of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill insist their rival's name be spelled D-O-O-K. This is possibly derived from the similarity of the word "Dook" to "dookie," the slang word for feces. (see above)
