Divine magic refers to various forms of magic which rely on the power of a divinity in one form or another. One form of divine magic uses an invocation of a deity, usually a god or goddess and extracts their power directly from, and according to the will of, that deity.
Other forms of divine magic work through the use of invocations of the monotheistic or pantheistic God. Alternatively, one can use the power of God directly, being an earthly vessel for the exercise of God's will by channeling God's power through themselves. Yet, with specific tasks to be done, an invocation of an archangel or angel may prove more effective, under the theory that these angels are specific aspects of God and are more specific.
Prayer is a form of divine magic that many people throughout the world practice without realizing that they are practicing magic. By virtue of the person praying attempting to ask for a divinity to grant a favor, prayer is definitionally magic. Similarly, many religious officials create holy water by blessing it with divine will.
Divine magic should be separated from other forms of magic. It does not utilize the user's own power to perform the act, beyond the ritual (or other means) itself. Therefore, it should not be confused with the user performing a miracle. Likewise, divine magic does not utilize demons, but divinities. With the exception of a request from an evil god or goddess (if the user even believes in such a divinity), divine magic cannot do harm and can only utilize positive entities. Therefore, it should not be confused with black magic.
Many forms of monotheistic/pantheistic divine magic exist:
Alchemical Healing is very similar to Reiki, but 5 elements: Fire, Water, Air, Earth, and Akasha are used individually or together to give more precise treatments. It is perhaps a more hands on version of Reiki.
Prayers that someone dies or that someone will fall in love with you will never be answered by God, and if your prayers seem to be answered, it's only the natural chain of events. However, it would be possible for God to help you get a non-specific companion. God would not bring any specific person to you, but would be able to help you spot the types of people you are looking for, give you the courage to make your move, or other means that would not violate anyone's free will.
It should also be said, that while God is willing to help people make money, It/He/She will be expecting you to earn the money that you make and won't help you win the lottery, make money at the casino, or find a job as a hitman.
Always be careful what you wish for, because like other supernatural entities, God tends to take your request to the letter. Word your request as specifically as you need, and make sure its intention is clear and cannot be read in a completely different way than intended.
The motion would signify the joining of two opposites into one entity. One starts by touching their forehead signifying God as "the Father," which is often seen as God acting in Heaven. Following down, one touches their sternum signifying God as "the Son," meaning Jesus, who is supposed to be an Earthly incarnation of God, or God on Earth. Heaven and Earth can be seen as two distinct areas, and therefore, God the Father and God the Son seem to be two opposite, distinct forms of God, an irreconcilable pair.
But then, the invocation unites these two opposites, like hot and cold, sharp and dull. Invoking the Holy Spirit, God All-pervading, Christians touch each shoulder, creating a line crossing the first duality. This third part of the duality crossing over the other two would signify uniting the two opposites, asking for God in Heaven to act on Earth, or a similar interperetation.
According to Magical theory, the invocation would be much more effective if the user understands it. A Christian who uses the Sign of the Cross prior to prayer and understands its meaning (if the theory that this is an invocation is correct) would create a stronger link with God than one who uses the invocation and doesn't understand it's meaning. However, using God instead of demons or neutral entities, God will only answer prayers that should be answered, and in the way in which they should be answered. If the request would do another harm or violate free will, it would not be answered.
