Devices

devices were a Los Angeles-based power-pop band from the late eighties and early nineties. They should not be confused with Devics, another Los Angeles band from the same era. With their original line-up, Scott Hardman (vocals), Mark Petersen (guitars), Jen Meller (vocals, drums) and don device (vocals, bass), they recorded a first disc under the auspices of famed hip-hop producer, Carl Stephenson (Forest for the Trees, Beck). A single "vibrator" soon followed, gaining substantial radio play, but poor sales. The band broke up while recording their follow-up, again with Stephenson, when Meller quit the group and was briefly replaced by Evan Urkofsky.
