Chipseal is a road pavement method. It is cheaper than an asphalt concrete or a concrete road. It consists of a thin base of asphalt with stones embedded into it. In the US, it is usually only used on smaller county roads. A chipseal road can optionally be sealed with a top layer call a fogseal.
