Bisynchronous protocol is a method of data transmission used on synchronous serial connections, usually modems and is still used as a productive protocol for many corporations.

Because the terms asynchronous and synchronous are easily confused bisynchronous or bisynch are commonly used to refer to synchronous serial communications in general.

Note: Most modems are asychronous only and not capable of synchronous communications.
