In Hinduism, apaurusheya means self-created, self-existing, not imparted or created from any source.

Apaurusheya shabda is an extension of apaurusheya which refers to sound from a divine source. Similar examples can be cited with the Ten Commandments that Moses wrote and the Qur'an that Muhammad wrote after hearing from a divine source.

Vedas are considered apaurusheya, something that never had a beginning. If ever the question came as to who created God, it could be answered as ever-existing or apaurusheya, a Sanskrit word.
