Anunaasika (anunāsika), also called chandrabindu ("moon and dot"), is a dot on top of a breve above a letterमँ ), used as a diacritic in Sanskrit and other Indo-Aryan languages written in devanagari script to represent vowel nasalization. When transliterated, it is represented with a tilde above the letter ( ~ ).
