When used by itself it can refer to:

  • A vertebrate animal of the Class Amphibia.
  • An amphibian vehicle, i.e. a vehicle capable of being driven on both land and water.
  • A type of seaplane capable of being operated from either land or water.
  • Amphibious warfare
