Yelamu is the name of the tribal group of Ohlone Indians that lived in the region comprising the City and County of San Francisco before the arrival of Europeans. Within two generations of European contact, effects associated with the Spanish Mission system, including oppression and disease, drove the Yelamu people to extinction.
