article

This article is on the Yamazaki family line. For the SNK character, see Ryuji Yamazaki.

The Yamazaki are descendants of a samurai clan from Kawagoe in the Kanto Region. The Yamazaki line dates from the 1700's, and their land was awarded by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo Period.

Descendants

The Yamazaki family is headed today by the ninth family leader, Akira Yamazaki. Naka, the daughter of the fourth honke was a friend of Tsuru Glover and wife of John Wilson, and the story of her life and marriage is likely contributory to the story Madama Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini.
