The Wilton is the name given by archaeologists to an archaeological culture which was common to parts of south and east Africa around six thousand years ago.
Occupation sites include that at Kalambo Falls.
Wilton culture is broadly analogous to the European mesolithic and microliths are a common artefact type. Later examples of the culture however indicate usage of iron.
