Wild River State Park is located along 18 miles (29 km) of the St. Croix River. It is one of seventy-one Minnesota state parks. Naturalist Programs are available at the park office year round and the park rangers facilitate educational programs for schools and other groups.

Flora and Fauna

The park provides habitat for a wide range of wildlife. Prevalent mammals include beaver, raccoon, fox, coyote, otter, squirrel, mink, and deer. Prairie restoration sites are increasingly used by meadowlarks and grassland sparrows.

The forests consist of oak, savannas, and birch. Berries are prevalent along the trail as are wild roses.
