It is the custom to reward Wikipedia contributors for hard work and due diligence by awarding them barnstars. To give the award to someone, just place the image on their talk page, and say why you've given it. Don't hesitate: Be bold in updating pages!

The concept of the barnstar as a Wiki award was created by user:SunirShah on BarnStar. The concept has since been imported into Wikipedia, and has been awarded numerous times since its introduction in February 2004. Since that time, the concept of the barnstar has become ingrained into the Wikipedia culture. These awards are part of the WikiProject Kindness Campaign and are meant to promote Civility and WikiLove.
