White Light, White Heat, White Trash

White Light, White Heat, White Trash is the fifth album by Social Distortion. It was released on September 17, 1996. It was their last studio album until returning in 2004 with their next album Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll and to feature guitarist Dennis Danell, due to his death on February 29, 2000 at the age of 38. Stylistically, the album is a return to the band's punk roots, with songs like "Down On The World Again" owing more to 80s hardcore than Johnny Cash.

Notes/Trivia

All songs were written by Mike Ness except "Under My Thumb" by the Rolling Stones.
The title is a parody/tribute of the Velvet Underground album White Light/White Heat.
The three year hiatus between this and the previous album was due to drummer Christopher Reece being replaced by Randy Carr in 1993. He left in 1995 and was replaced by Chuck Biscuits, who used to be the drummer for D.O.A. and Glenn Danzig's solo project.
Bleach creator Tite Kubo assigned several characters theme songs which are used to give insight to characters that might not normally appear in the run of the manga or anime. In Isshin's case, the song is "Don't Drag Me Down", by Social Distortion.
