It is home to the famous Omestead's fishery, a Canadian company founded in the town which still harbors it's family. It has also been named on many occasions 'most millionaires per capita in Canada,' a title due to the small population vs the small group of millionaires, mostly fishermen and Omstead family members. However, these millionaires do not show off their riches, and prefer to live frugally in the small community. In addition, Hike Metal Products. a boat repair/fabricating company based in the habour, is the maker of the 'Maid of the Mists,' the ferry boat used at Niagara Falls for the tours under the great Canadian waterfall.
