Texel is part of the province of North Holland. The islands Vlieland. Terschelling, Ameland and Schiermonnikoog are part of the province of Friesland. The small islands Rottumeroog, Rottumerplaat, Simonszand and Zuiderduintjes belong to the province of Groningen.
