Watson and Crick refers to the duo of James D. Watson and Francis Crick, who, together with Rosalind Franklin, discovered the structure of the DNA molecule in the 1950s, for which they were awarded the 1962 Nobel prize award, along with Maurice Wilkins. Their work became the basis for the Human Genome Project.
