The Washington Freedom is a professional soccer team that played in the Women's United Soccer Association. The team played at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in Washington, D.C.. The team began play in 2001. The league announced on September 15, 2003 it was suspending operations. The Freedom were the winners of the WUSA Founder's Cup III, in 2003.

It has been announced that the club will play as an associate member of the W-League in 2006. Home games during the 2006 season will be played at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, MD.
