Walsh University is a private not-for-profit, 4-year, Catholic university in North Canton, Ohio. It was founded in 1960 by the Brothers of Christian Instruction, initially as a liberal arts college.
In 2005, there were approximately 2,000 students attending the University.
Walsh's current President is Richard Jusseaume. Among some of the degrees that Walsh offers are Marketing, Management, and Finance in the Business Department, Biology (Pre-Physical Therapy) in the Mathematics and Sciences Department, and Early, Middle, Adolescent and Young Adult education within the Education Department.
Walsh University was the men's 2004-2005 NAIA National Basketball Champions. They are coached by Jeff Young (JY) //www.walsh.edu/images/uploads/img1695.jpg Young. Robert Whaley was named the NAIA MVP, and was later drafted by the Utah Jazz.
Walsh University is also the owner of North Canton's Hoover Park, which was formally owned by the Hoover Company Park Brochure. The park is home to the Hoover Historical Center
Staff include Dr. Peter Koritansky, Dr. John Trapani, Dr. Thomas Ling, Dr. Weiping Li, Professor Milan Savan, Education Placement Coordinator Peter Markovich, Dr. Paul DuMont, Dr. Lewis Porter, and Professor/Coach Daniel McCallion.
In the early 1990's, a campus bar, once known as the Stumble Inn, graced the only floor of Rannou Campus Center which is now known as the Barrette Business and Community Center Barrette.
The Brother Edmond Drouin Library is located in Farrell Hall. The head librarian is Dan Suvak. The Brother Edmond Drouin Library has over 136,238 volumes and 605 subscriptions (film and microfilm). It is also the home to 1,423 audio-visual and electronic media.
