WWE Judgment Day is a WWE Pay-Per-View event. The first edition of Judgment Day was in October 1998 as an In Your House event. This Pay-Per-View (usually held in May) was originally known as "Over The Edge" in 1998 and 1999 but the name was replaced after the fatal tragedy at the 1999 event with the death of Owen Hart. In 2000, Judgment Day became the annual May event which follows the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Backlash Pay-Per-View in April. Judgment Day is now exclusive to the SmackDown! Brand.
