Vivian "Viv" Thomas is a South African-born British director of pornographic movies (viz., a pornographer). His more well-known films include the Pink Velvet series, Office Girls, and The Art of Kissing, although he has directed hundreds of different features over the course of his 15+ year career. He specializes in and is best known for directing lesbian pornography and a keen interest in all matters relating to the erotic side of feet. He also produces an equal amount of heterosexual works. The majority of his work was produced prior to the British government lifting some of the more stringent laws regarding what could be shown in pornographic films; when those laws were repealed in 1999, Viv moved into producing hardcore material exclusively. However, as a court decision confirmed that R18 rated hardcore DVD's can only be sold via licensed sex shops in the UK, not mail-order via the internet, Viv Thomas decided to move his whole operation from Acton, West London to Portugal. This refreshing indulgence is due largely to input from fans of his work and the girls-only performance of the models who appear in his films (including Sandra Shine, Zsanett Égerházi (aka Sandy), Peaches, Sophie Moone, Monica Sweet and Eve Angel). Thomas and members of his production crew also regularly post on that site's forums.
Thomas' recent work has starred almost exclusively Hungarian/eastern European models although he does feature some British performers, particualry the highly talented Ian.
