The University of Applied Sciences Stuttgart - Hochschule für Technik (HfT) - is one of 10 institute for higher education in Stuttgart. It was founded in 1832 as a school for construction craftsmen (Winterschule für Bauhandwerker) and was inaugurated as a University of Applied Sciences in 1971. Today, architecture and civil engineering still play a major role at the university.
The campus is located in downtown Stuttgart directly beside the Universität Stuttgart.
Within the framework of the Process of Bologna, all programmes traditionally structured as a Diplom will be reworked for the degrees of Bachelor and Master.
