The Universal Wrestling Association (UWA) was a Mexican Lucha Libre promotion based in Naucalpan from 1975 until 1995. The UWA name stems from the name of the fictional sactioning body for the promotion's titles and is used more in a historical context outside of Mexico. During its existence, and often still in Mexico, it was referred to as Lucha Libre Internacional (LLI). The company was founded by Ray Mendoza, Fransisco Flores and Benjamín Mora after a management shake up in Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre. The company had working agreements with New Japan Pro Wrestling and the World Wrestling Federation.
