Tusayan is a census-designated place (CDP) in Coconino County, Arizona, United States. The population was 562 at the 2000 census.
The town is served by Grand Canyon National Park Airport.
Tusayan is located at (35.975674, -112.129046), near the south entrance to Grand Canyon National Park. Being a small resort town, it is focused on accomdating visitors to the Grand Canyon.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 74.0 km² (28.6 mi²). 74.0 km² (28.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.04% is water.
There were 222 households out of which 27.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 30.2% were married couples living together, 9.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 54.1% were non-families. 32.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 1.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 3.38.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 25.4% under the age of 18, 15.5% from 18 to 24, 36.5% from 25 to 44, 20.1% from 45 to 64, and 2.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31 years. For every 100 females there were 128.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 125.3 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $34,917, and the median income for a family was $45,625. Males had a median income of $28,125 versus $21,250 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $16,637. About 14.9% of families and 18.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 18.0% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
