The Truku (太魯閣族), (also spelled Taroko), are a Taiwanese aboriginal tribe. Taroko is also the name of the area the Truku tribe resides in. Taroko is the 12th aborigional tribe in Taiwan. The Executive Yuan, Republic of China has legalized the existence of Taroko sice January 15th, 2004.
