Tracey Thorn (born September 26, 1962, in Brookmans Park, Hertfordshire) is an English pop singer and songwriter. Although best known as being one half of the group Everything But The Girl, she began her career as one third of the group Marine Girls, and released a solo mini-album in 1982, titled A Distant Shore.

Thorn has collaborated with Massive Attack on several projects, including the soundtrack for the motion picture Batman Forever where she contributed with 'The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game'. Their first project together was the song 'Protection' from the album by Massive Attack of the same name. She also sings on the track 'Better Things'.

Thorn has also contributed guest vocals and backing vocals for The Style Council, The Go-Betweens, Working Week, Lloyd Cole and, in 2005, the German band Tiefschwarz on their album Eat Books. The track 'Damage' is Thorn's first recording since 2002.

She grew up in Hatfield, Hertfordshire and studied English at the University of Hull, where she graduated in 1984 with First Class Honours (and a single in the UK Top 40 at the same time). She is married to her EBTG partner Ben Watt, whom she met at University when they were both signed separately to Cherry Red records. They have three children.

In winter 2006 she wrote lyrics and recorded a vocal which might go on Justin Martin's album, due out on Buzzin' Fly at some point in the future.

Currently working on a solo album with Cagedbaby, Ewan Pearson and Charles Webster scheduled for February 2007.
